Overview

Comprising of glistening beaches, lagoons of turquoise blue waters and a pinch of history, Andaman & Nicobar Islands is a little slice of paradise. The Andaman Islands are an Indian archipelago in the Bay of Bengal. These roughly 300 islands are known for their palm-lined, white-sand beaches, mangroves and tropical rainforests. Coral reefs supporting marine life such as sharks and rays make for popular diving and snorkeling sites. Indigenous Andaman Islanders inhabit the more remote islands, many of which are off limits to visitors. It comprises a total of 572 islands, among which 37 of which are inhabited and a few are open to the tourists. You can either choose to relax on the sandy shores and enjoy the splendid sunsets or try out some adventure sports. One of the largest Islands of Andaman is Havelock Island which offers with myriad of opportunities to its travellers.

Havelock Island

One of the largest and most popular islands in Andaman and Nicobar IS Havelock Island. It is a long list of silky white sand beaches, crystal clear water, rich corals and dense forests.

Radhanagar Beach

Beach is known for its turquoise blue waters and white sands. It is also one of the most renowned places to enjoy water sports in the Andaman.

Cellular Jail

Also known as ‘Kala Pani’, Cellular Jail is an old colonial prison located in Port Blair, which is the capital of Andaman and Nicobar islands. Presently the jail is owned by the Government of India and it is recognised as the national memorial monument.

Ross Island

Located 2 kilometre east of Port Blair is the Ross Island which was once the seat of British power. It has a cemetery and a small museum which is managed by the Indian Navy. Besides, the island provides travellers with a sense of nostalgia and takes them back in time.

Neil Island

A small, peaceful island known for its untouched natural beauty, Neil Island is famous for its white sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters, and vibrant coral reefs, perfect for snorkeling and swimming.

Port Blair

The capital city of the Andaman Islands, Port Blair is home to historical sites like the Cellular Jail, which holds significance from India’s freedom struggle, and Corbyns Cove Beach.

North Bay Island

North Bay is famous for its underwater marine life and coral reefs, making it a popular spot for water sports, including snorkeling, scuba diving, and glass-bottom boat rides.

Ritchie's Archipelago

A group of small islands near Havelock, Ritchie’s Archipelago is perfect for nature lovers, with untouched coral reefs, serene beaches, and clear waters that make it a great spot for diving.

Best Time to Visit

The best time to visit the Andaman Islands is from November to May. During this period, the weather is pleasant with warm temperatures and clear skies, ideal for beach activities and water sports. December to February is the peak tourist season, offering cooler temperatures and calm seas. The monsoon season (June to September) should be avoided due to heavy rainfall and rough seas, which can disrupt travel and water activities.
